Results?

Well the results have been poor to date – 1 post in 13 days and the goal of having a daily post has gone down the drain for another month. Maybe its because things have been so hectic lately with the upcoming move, the lack of being home for much of August.

It hasn’t helped that we had passes to Bluesfest either in terms of getting additional things done as we’ve been there seeing a huge list of bands. From Theory of a Deadman, to Three Days Grace, Great Big Sea and last nights big act Akon.

I did snag this picture of Akon as he was shifting through the crowd.

More later.,

Happy Canada Day!

It’s been almost a month since i’ve made the time to blog. There were alot of things this past month that caused a time drain so I’ll try and seperate them accordingly.

First up because it was fairly successful was a last minute change in summer activities. Dan & the Nortel Padawan’s were short rowers for the Ottawa Dragonboat festival – so a few practices later Mona and I found ourselves rowing in the Tech Challenge Final… we proceeded to make Day 2 of the Dragonboat festival (largly on the backs of the 8 experienced people Dan had leading the boat) – and after a slow morning start and a 5th place finish we were within 3 seconds of first place with the 200m sprint left. Leaving it all out the Padawan’s roared into second with a time of 53 seconds in the sprint. A successful day by any standard as we we finished with what may have been the best Nortel time in years… the bonus was we got Medals later that day!

Softball had some heartbreakers – we got rained out – and then had to forfeit the double header on Sunday and we lost to a walk-off homerun 11-10 as the One Hit Wonders managed their best performance to date. As for the Nortel league – it was another rough outing against the Spacemen but we did manage to score 24 runs in 3 innings against a depleated Silly Bunts team.

For the record I owe Gurmehl a little surprise for his disregard for the other team when he bunted with the bases loaded in that game…..

As for other activities we did manage to make it out to the Syracuse Outlet Malls as well. I managed to find some wide-width shoes which i seem to have so much more trouble with finding in Ottawa – makes for walking comfort!

I’m sure there were many more items not listed but I promise to have a better blogging month coming up.
