First their was the break and exit…. then I shit you not…. Teddy our sometimes adorable cat made a interesting discovery – he could slide open the neighbour’s window and enter their house!
I kid you not – the cat first slid open our screen window to exit the house between 12am and 5 am… and entered the neighbour’s house at approximately 5am…. by 8 we noticed he was missing and 3h later a call from the neighbour due to the posters we had put up – had us coming over to pick him up….
I was sure he was fixed… but I guess he wanted some action from the cat next door… though she was having none of that…. the hissing she made was what infact woke the neighbours.
Glad to put this disaster behind us… I don’t think I could stand Mona’s nervous breakdown & tears.

Another two week gap between posts and this happens mainly because I don’t always have access to the pictures I want to add to describe what’s going on with me these days…. additionally there was a several day vacation included and that always causes for lots of post Vacation Information.
My Mini-Vacation was quite rainy from the 15-21st .
The trip included a trip to PBL in MTL – where we looked around at a number of Paintball items – and when I was the only one that had been unsatisfied by finding what they were looking for I managed to ask about a new tank for my marker – one that’s a little larger than what I have but not too large – they happened to have one in the back so I now own an Empire 56/45 which is really nice and light – it also means that Mona inherits my Pure Energy 45/45.
I’ve also been trying to rid myself of some excess collectors items and managed to do so netting a tidy sum that I will use to upgrade my marker to something more high-end. More on that later.
Sunday we went to Gatineau Park – and completed the Skyline Trail – I have to say its very nice and different – we managed to spot a Snake, and a Woodpecker but not much else for wildlife. 4.5k hike helped burn off the previous day’s calories that I over consumed from the Chinese buffet.
Monday we had a rest day since most things were closed and we managed to get in a couple hours of Gears of War play…. I was dragging the team down as usual but I’ve only played 3-4h of it… where as others have played close to 20+
Tuesday was a debacle – first up was a bike downtown and trip to OHIP to renew/get health cards now I’m pretty sure I double checked everything and even brought back up information as I was under the false assumption I did not need to bring a paystub… turns out I did so we only 1/2 completed the work…. after that we went to the market to look around and ate some nice fish/salad at Lapointe.
Continuing on the Tuesday we did manage to hit up PSI (Paint Storm) for BYOP – it was a rough start with most of the Tourny Players showing up to practice for their Sunday Tournament in Toronto – but it got a bit better – I even managed to sell the old tank, and Mona’s marker for about 310 so that makes the upgrade more paltable (I switched Markers with her so she’d have the Virtue Board & Better upgrades).
Wednesday we decided to go down to St. Laurent Mall and bus back into downtown for the second trip to OHIP – which as it turns out at 12:30 is pretty dead so it was in and out in 10 minutes, with everything successfully renewed.
Now for the big new event of the Weekend – a chance to flex my muscles rock climbing at Coyote Gym… what this really meant was belaying for Mona as she scaled walls and I watched like a chicken…. on my two attempts up the wall the first was 3/4 the way up…. the second 1/2 way up before I started to cramp up – so we have another activity that i’m going to be fairly poor at for some time – but I really think it was good and fun – just way different than what I’m used to so its going to be a LOOOONG learning curve. It helps that all this new activity re-kickstart my weight-loss and in the past week i’m down (buffet buffeted) 3.5lbs to 276.5
Thursday we had the couch repaired again… kindof. as they took it away and are delivering it Saturday. Then I did some mild cleaning hoping to see a Movie later as rain was in the forecast. Somehow the clouds parted and stayed parted around work & the field so we had our 4:45 Softball game – I pitched a Gem which wasn’t hard considering the other team had 7 players and an auto out – 16-6 win was the order of the day…. the last play of the game was a line drive that flash bruised my shin that I injured last season. (I had a bone bruise so deep it probably fractured but I played the whole season on it.) What this meant was an immediate ice pack and an attempt to call Mike to Sub for my 9pm game.
As it turns out we went to MEC while waiting for Mike to call me back – he was at a work training session that spilled over to a Pub Trip with his boss. So no luck there – we instead got me some shin guards as i seemed to be much more ok than first glance. As it turns out I played a great fielding game – getting some really fancy plays off and pitched decently for a 16-9 win, I had a nice solid hit near the end of the game to help extend the 12-8 lead and give me lots of cushion for the top of 7.
Friday was a white-wash – 22-4 loss with the One Hit Wonders – another debacle in that I was not emailed about changes to the schedule so we’ll resolve that this week to make sure it never happens again.
That’s about all to catch you up.
Couch, maybe TKD, and Dan’s House Warming are in the plans for tomorrow.

It always comes down to balancing any activity with the miriade of others I try to get involved with, Mona, Work, and other things always take precedence over the smaller things – whether I blogged enough or managed to actually get the value out of a specific video game I impulsively bought thinking I’d have time for it.
So that’s my excuse for not blogging, it sounds so noble, so sincere, but to be honest it is not that its just that sometimes I censor myself. You(re: I) want to vent and venting in a public place just doesn’t make sense, whether its someone that doesn’t notice they’re hit during a paintball game or someone that is asking the same questions over and over and you wonder how they were hired. Everyone one is a critic and in some cases its just an easy solution – its a new person and they just didn’t understand – you explain it and the next time it happens you see the newly learned skill applied…. and in other cases you shake your head and hope to god that your problem goes away.
But yes there are a number of activities I’ve finally managed to close on – so while I’ve yet to complete them – I’m half way there:
So everything is planned and its just time to execute. Speaking of executing, this past weekend was a stellar performance if I do say so myself. First off we had a 12-15km bike ride on the new bikes (Fuji Hybrid from CyclePower) to drop the bikes off before the Tour Nortel on Sunday. Sunday managed to turn out into a nice day without rain for Tour Nortel, got to meet Jan and go to Moxies after the 12k and try their coconut curry. To round out the evening Moxies Muleskinners had a double-header and I got to use my X-mas gift (Miken Recoil) to quickly double my extra base hits from last season – spoting a first pitch HR, and later a double going a respectable 4/6 with 4RBI in the two games though stranded on second in the first game loss 10-9 we kept the hitting up and won 14-4 before going to the NEW Moxies in Kanata for a quick drink and some med bread.
No Diet update – I’ve obviously upped the activities but the increase in food has limited any potential weigh-loss. The goal is to get back on track and we’re biking in to work semi-regularly to help with that goal.
Enjoy your weekend
