Most coaches go into the 3rd inning with a 8-0 lead happy and content to let the game play out confident nothing is wrong. Consider that the pitcher had seen just 6 batters… the coach doesn’t go to the bullpen…. but you’re looking at a crazy coach…. one that not only did that…. but he yanked himself to do that.
Bad News Researcher’s first game of the season had the above scenario – and after Dan managed a few walks and some quick runs I re-entered the game and stopped the bleeding at 8 runs…. our high octane offence did bail me out where we promptly put up 4 in the next inning and 5 in the following inning – after that we shut the door more or less with a final score of 17-12 we didn’t need our final at bat. We were offered it but it was fairly cold.
So the victory came after some messiness…. including where our first baseman managed to make the runner tumble while they were playing the ball (twice)….. I whiffed on a 3rd strike…. but we were saved as Jeff hit multiple HR.
Time to watch the MTL game…. and hope that Biron doesnt stand on his head again tonight.
I have 10 minutes before a quick run out for lunch – get some salad to go with the grilled chicken in the fridge as I just finished another interesting and frustrating work call.
I wanted to put up a picture that shows something that I consider amazing…. I recently won a silent auction for a Large Sens Jersey , 75$ for a brand new jersey that was at least worth 50$ more retail – I didn’t expect to win but thought it a cool gift for Mona.
Interestingly when I showed it to Mona she pointed out it was kindof Large and that it looked like it could fit me…. now lets be honest folks…. Large is a generic term for me…. a L was last seen on this body (in shirt form) circa 1990…. maybe earlier – I recall a baseball card of me in an XL (at least) weighing in at 160lbs…. and I think that was grade 5.
So without further ado….

Goofy Look, but yet pointing on the size… an L for the first time in 18 years*
